James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
The Lord dealt with Pastor Dennis all week about this sermon. He encourages us to keep our priorities in the right place. Our life is but a vapor and disappears. Our life is short. Let's make it count.
Enmity is the serpent's fruit! Satan wants to put that on us. Definition of "enmity" - the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.
It's the spirit of liberty that sets us free. As we behold the glory of the Lord, will be changed into His image! We are all in progress. We want to be changed into the image of Jesus. This is sanctification. Set apart.
Revelation 12 -
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
The former things will pass away and God will make all things new. Our hope is in our eternity. He is the alpha and the omega - the beginning and the end! (Revelation 21). This is our hope! Not the world! Let it go.
Matthew 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
