So Be It Unto Your Faith

Pastors are on a respite right now for two weeks so today Pastor Dennis opened up in prayer and supported our guest speaker from Canada - Bruce Bigelow!  Pastor shared a little word about us and the Book of Life. Then Bruce preached about faith and how we must trust God now more than ever and not allow the devil to steal our faith.

Notes:

  • Faith is the substance of things HOPED FOR - a high level of conviction - what you hope for will come to pass
  • Faith comes by hearing - the word of God
  • Grace is undeserved forgiveness by God - we cannot obtain it by ourselves
  • If you can believe, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM WHO BELIEVES!
  • Doubt and Unbelief can be SINS THAT SO EASILY BESET US
  • Peter had faith when he came to walk on the water, however, when he noticed the storm he began to sink. He was focusing on the obstacle instead of Jesus. Peter let in (doubt and unbelief).
  • Even the disciples battled with their faith
  • As we believe, so it is!
  • As thou has believed, so it be done unto thee! (Jesus told Centurian!) Matt 8
  • Our hope, faith, our belief is key to the results in our life!
  • If you have faith as the grain of a mustard seed and you SAY......Matt 17
  • Faith as a child!
  • Faith is action!
  • How can we walk through the valley of decision if we do not have faith?

Romans 14:23 - And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin

This scripture is not about food...it's about life. No faith IS SIN. Have faith and have a clear conscious!

How faith can be weakened?

  • Doubt and unbelief
  • Bad associations - believing what others say or think about us. We take the negative inside us. Memorize scripture will help you to overcome the negative.
  • If you're not willing to be alone, how can you expect to make it in this hour!
  • Our excuses will rob us of our faith (I'm too old, too tall, too short, no money, etc)
  • We do not want to be weak branches and break under the pressure of the word. Trust in the Lord for strength.

Bruce shared how he used to drink and it made him bolder. It was his crutch to get along with other people. It was stinking thinking. Jesus saved him and now he trusts in the Lord and His word.
